What is BrowseAloud?

BrowseAloud makes websites accessible to those who require online reading support, which is 20% of the UK population. It works by reading web pages aloud in a human-sounding voice. The user simply hovers their mouse pointer over the text to hear it read aloud.

What does BrowseAloud look like?

If you have an existing version of BrowseAloud on your computer (3, 4 or 5) you will need to update it to the latest version to get full benefit from the software. You will need to uninstall any earlier versions before running the latest version of BrowseAloud.

Important Note:

To uninstall earlier versions of BrowseAloud

Go to Start – then Control Panel
Open add / remove programs
Select Texthelp from the list of programmes and
Click on uninstall / remove

Once this is complete please click on the above link for BrowseAloud downloads.

BrowseAloud features and options are accessed from an easy to use, floating toolbar (see above). You can position this toolbar anywhere on your screen or hide from view, as you prefer.
